What did they call a photographic memory before cameras were invented?

Well, before cameras were invented, I don't suppose the word photographic was invented either, so your question is irrelevant...(sorry to be a smart arse!).
Thanks for the a with the accent. I wondered what on earth you were trying to say, then it clicked. I know it's in my PC somewhere, but couldn't be bothered looking for it when I was typing my blog! How are you, anyway? Bin a long time between drinks...

It's a valid question.

We now call it a photographic memory because technology has given us a medium by which we can preserve - to some extent - our memories. However, in the days before cameras and daguerreotype, some people still had that capability. It had to be called something; what?
